Festive Gardens 2025 SEN Night

Back by popular demand, the Festive Gardens return to the Chelsea & Maxwell Gardens in Telford Town Park and this year, we are proud to introduce an SEN Friendly Night.

This night is for those who require things a little on the quiet side so we’ll turn the levels down, have less flashy lights and we’ll limit those numbers so that you can enjoy your experience in being transported to the North Pole in a less overwhelming environment.

The trail will feature stunning light displays, photo opportunities and maybe the odd elf or two.

Once you have exited the gardens, there will be a zone around the band stand where you can grab a drink and a hot dog (sold separately), listen to a story, build your own Lego toy and meet some animal friends we visiting especially for this night.

The trail is step free but there are gradual hills and mixed terrain so please bear this in mind if bringing a pushchair or if there is anyone with mobility issues in your party. For the SEN Friendly night, your ticket grants you multiple entry within the hour you’ve purchased (more details in the FAQs).

Grandad Anansi

Abi and her Grandad tell each other Anansi folktales. They play games and share secrets as they work together in the garden.

Grandad is as smart and mischievous as the wily Anansi legend, a part human, part spider and the subject of many West African and Caribbean folk stories. Can he find a way to tell his granddaughter about his plans to return to Jamaica, his beloved homeland?

Grandad Anansi is an uplifting tale of love, courage and letting go that celebrates storytelling and shines a light on Jamaican culture and the Windrush generation.

Written by award-winning children’s author Elayne Ogbeta, Grandad Anansi is a Half Moon and Z-arts co-production: an exciting collaboration by the UK’s leading small-scale young people’s venue and touring company and Manchester’s unique venue for children and families.

Grandad Anansi won Best Performance at the Manchester Culture Awards 2023.

The show will be signed by a BSL Interpreter.
