Telford Balloon Fiesta – Night Glow
The weekend begins with a bang as the skies light up for our much-loved Night Glow. This ticketed evening event is bursting with family-friendly activities and entertainment all building up to the breath-taking glow of illuminated balloons set to music.
There’ll be stage shows, live acts and plenty to see and do before the main event and the events team are lining up even more surprises this year, so arrive early and make the most of it.
You are welcome to bring picnic chairs, food and non-alcoholic drinks into the arena.

Getting home from the Balloon Fiesta Night Glow
Planning to stay for the Night Glow on Friday 28 August? Additional evening bus services will operate from Telford Bus Station after the event to help visitors get home. These additional services will be free to use. Normal fares will continue to apply on regular timetabled bus services.

Departures: 8.30pm, 9.30pm and 10.30pm
Service 3: Brookside via Hollinswood and Randlay

Some services depart before the end of the event, providing extra flexibility for visitors who wish to head home earlier.
If you are travelling to the event by bus, the £2 adult single fare and free travel for children under 16s will continue to apply on journeys to the Balloon Fiesta.

No – Only the Night Glow is a ticketed event. both Saturday & Sunday are free and open to all
What is there to do at Telford Balloon Fiesta over the weekend (not including Night Glow)?
Saturday 29 to Sunday 30 August | 12–7pm |
Enjoy two full days of free entertainment in Telford Town Park. Each day will be packed with aerial displays, shows, live music and family fun.
Look up at 12 midday as the Wings Parachute Team drops into the arena to officially open the event on both days. You’ll also see balloon tethering demonstrations throughout the day (Weather Dependant).
Live music from local acts and within the Midlands will keep the vibes going. There will also be plenty of food and drink options to keep everyone fuelled throughout the day.
For young families and nursing mothers, The Montessori Rainbow will be providing a calm and comfortable space for feeding, changing, and taking a well-deserved break. Their services cater to your needs and ensure a stress-free experience. There will also be a dedicated “kids zone” which will have lots of activities and demonstrations aimed to entertain the younger ones of your group.

Enjoy a free spectacular carnival procession starting at 12.15pm, bringing music, movement, and creativity to the heart of Southwater.
Discover our Carnival Village, featuring local groups and organisations and celebrating the rich culture and diversity within our Borough. Expect vibrant performances, community spirit, and plenty to see and enjoy throughout the day.

Will any Balloons be Launched?
Simple answer is, it is weather dependant.
Due to the nature of Hot Air Balloons, they can only go up if the conditions are right. A decision on flights will be made by the flight director, announcements online and on the main stage.
