Ironbridge Poetry Slam

Poets, Prattlers, and Pandemonialists return with their high-energy, highly entertaining poetry slam. Fifteen poets perform their work and compete against each other. Only one can win the prize of a paid gig in Ironbridge later this year. Who will it be? What poems will they share with us? How will the judges vote? And will you think the judges made the right decision?

Come to the Engine Shop at 2:30pm on Sunday 28th September and find out!

Refreshments will be available from the Furnace Cafe on site.

Due to the nature of the event individual poets are invited on to stage to share their poems. The subject mater is outside of the organisers’ control. Previous Poetry Slams have touched on adult subject matter and language. So it may not be suitable for young children.

ITV’S Emma Kenny – The Serial Killer Next Door

Emma Kenny will take you on a journey looking at what ingredients of possibility lead to body counts by killers like Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, Jeffrey Dahmer, and John Paul Knowles. What creates a serial killer, and could anything have prevented their potential being activated, or were they simply born to kill?

Emma specialises in victimology, but she is mostly known in the media for presenting crime shows including Britain’s Darkest TaboosLady Killers, and The Killer in My Family. Emma has presented over 70 Crime shows analysing some of the most heinous crimes both here in the UK and the States, exploring what makes a killer, and why some people can be born into seemingly normal families, brought up without fear, or abuse, yet still choose a murderous path.
