Based in London, UK ‘Klezmer Foygl’, meaning ‘Klezmer Songbird’ in Yiddish, is an exciting new ensemble playing both traditional and original Klezmer repertoire.
Led by Clarinettist John Macnaughton, and featuring some of the UK’s leading Klezmer musicians, the group is deeply grounded in traditional Yiddish music, whilst simultaneously seeking to innovate upon it, and bring a contemporary London twist to its music.
Members of Klezmer Foygl have played at some of the UK’s leading venues, toured internationally, and performed for television and theater. Including venues such as; BBC Radio Theatre, BBC Maida Vale Studios, The Southbank Centre, Wigmore Hall, The Barbican, Menier Chocolate Factory, and Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival.
