In his bid to finally rid Sherwood Forest of outlaws the evil Prince John has decided to burn it down.
However, our eponymous hero has other ideas! With much cunning and more than a little help from the peasants, and even time for a spot of Morris dancing, Robin outwits his Highness.
This is a very interactive production filled with music and humour that combines “myths and legends” with an important study of ecology and the environment.

Aesop’s Touring Theatre Company specialises in Theatre in Education, touring Schools, Children’s Centres, Art Centres, Libraries, Village Halls and Theatres nationally throughout the year with Plays and Creative Drama Workshops specifically written and designed for Nursery, Infant, Junior and Senior age groups. The Company is also very experienced in performing Plays and conducting Workshops at Schools with Special Educational Needs.
The Company aims to educate young audiences through the powers of entertainment and imagination whilst, at the same time, encouraging children to question and think for themselves.
A high standard of professionalism is maintained by employing experienced actors with specialist skills and considerable enthusiasm. All actors and Company personnel have enhanced DBS checks to work with children and vulnerable adults.
All productions are linked to the National Curriculum, and the Comapany’s nursery and infant plays carry an important moral or message.
Behind the scenes too, professionals in costumery, puppetry, mask-making and scenery painting have been chosen specifically for their talents and genuine interest in educational theatre.
We’re very excited to welcome Aesop’s Theatre to Telford this summer.
Most performances go ahead rain or shine! But please note the following:-
If it’s raining at the start time, we’ll forge ahead in the hope that the rain will clear up soon. It will have to be raining very hard indeed (with thunder!) for the start to be delayed.
If conditions become genuinely unsafe, for example if the performance space is flooded or there is a lightning storm, we will stop the show.
Light to heavy-ish rain won’t put us off, but if rain is torrential (and the audience can’t hear the performance) we will stop the show until the rain clears sufficiently for us to continue.
If we can’t go ahead due to the weather, we will transfer your tickets to another performance or refund your ticket money. If we get through most of the performance and then have to stop because of heavy rain, we’ll transfer your tickets to a different performance.
